This collaborative project has two complimentary sets of objectives . The “ long-term goal of the EMCBAAP is to establish a network of protected areas (PA) within the Eastern Mindanao Corridor with managed habitat corridors connecting these PAs to facilitate wildlife migration, and consequently secure species survival for the long term.”

To meet that goal, the EMCBAAP is conducting assessments of vertebrate diversity and local threats to conservation priority sites in the 3 PAs, completing a GIS-based analysis of land features, biodiversity, and threats for the PAs, and developing mechanisms to build concensus amongst stakeholders on conservation priorities and strategies in place. (EMCBAAP, 2005.)

The EMCC is supporting these EMCBAAP activities directed toward achieving its primary long –term goal by ;

The expected time-frame for the completion of EMCC tasks is December 2006 with an open-ended commitment for on-going technical support to UPM through 2007.
